Dr. Bret Nelson, MD, FACEP

Bret Nelson is a Professor and Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine and the System Chief of the Ultrasound Division.

He trained in Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and has been engaged in all levels of undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education for twenty years.

He has lectured around the world on point of care ultrasound and medical education, and received many education and teaching awards from ACEP, SAEM, Mount Sinai, and Harvard Medical School.

He has served on the board of directors and chaired sections of several national and international ultrasound organizations, including WINFOCUS.

He is a Master Educator level member of Mount Sinai’s Institute for Medical Education and was a scholar in the Harvard Macy Program for Educators in Health Professions.

He authored several books on point of care ultrasound and the leading Emergency Medicine Oral Board review text.
