Effie Polyzogopoulou MD, PhD
Effie Polyzogopoulou, is Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2020.
She is the Vice-Chair and Training Program Director in the Academic Emergency Department of Attikon University Hospital in Athens Greece.
She was trained in Emergency Medicine in the United States in New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, NYC, USA.
She is the Chair of EUSEM Ultrasound Section since March 2022.
She is faculty member in EUSEM Emergency Ultrasound Courses since 2017, Founder and Co-Director of the National Emergency Ultrasound Courses since 2015.
She is member of the ESC Acute Heart Failure Committee and Fellow of Heart Failure Association (HFA) since 2020.
She has been appointed as Country Lead for Greece in the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM) Research Network since 2019.
Her current research work and scientific interest are focused on Emergency Ultrasonography/Echocardiography, Acute Heart Failure and Cardiogenic Shock.
She is Examiner in the European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine (EBEEM) since 2015 and member of the Emergency Medicine Examination Reference Group for Europe (EMERGE) since 2019.
