Dr.Brunetti is currently Director of the Postgraduate Training Program in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy
His main interests are Neglected Tropical Diseases and Clinical Ultrasound in ID
He is a Director of the Training Program in Ultrasound in Internal Medicine –Infectious Diseases at the University of Pavia
He has over 30 years of experience in clinical ultrasound in Infectious Diseases and is part of team that pioneered ultrasound-guided percutaneous treatment of echinococcal cysts
Member of the WHO Informal Working Group on Echinococcosis.
He directs the WHO Collaborating Centre for Clinical Management of Cystic Echinococcosis based at the University of Pavia-San Matteo Hospital Foundation, Pavia
Founder and Director of the Short Course on Ultrasound in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, an international course held yearly at the University of Pavia since 2003, which sees trainees from Europe, Africa, North and South America
Dr.Brunetti co-authored over 200 papers in international, peer-reviewed journals and several chapters in international Books, notably a chapter on Ultrasound in Manson’s Tropical Diseases, 23 rd Edition, Elsevier.
This was the first edition of the classic textbook featuring a chapter on Ultrasound in Tropical Diseases.
