Dr. Jennifer Marin, M.D.
Dr. Jennifer Marin is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a pediatric emergency physician at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
After completing her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship training, and under the tutelage of Dr. Anthony J. Dean at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Marin received her training in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) before the widespread adoption of POCUS in pediatric emergency medicine.
In 2010, Dr. Marin was recruited to the faculty at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as the first Director of Emergency Ultrasound. In 2015, she established one of the first and only children’s hospital multidisciplinary POCUS programs, for which she serves as the Medical Director.
Dr. Marin is an accomplished leader and health services researcher with over 100 publications. She was lead author on the American Academy of Pediatrics policy statements on pediatric emergency medicine POCUS, has been a leader in several organizations committed to POCUS, and teaches internationally.
