Katharine Burns, MD, is an attending emergency physician and ultrasound fellowship co-director at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, and clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine.
Dr. Burns attended medical school at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
She completed both her emergency medicine residency and ultrasound fellowship at Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she is now a core faculty member within the residency program.
Dr. Burns teaches with the Resuscitative TEE Workshop, and has served as the director of ultrasound courses with the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, Mediterranean Emergency Medicine Congress, and European Society of Emergency Medicine.
Her academic interests include ultrasound education, cardiac arrest research, and resuscitative transesophageal echo.
