Dr Niccolò Parri

Niccolò Parri is an internationally recognized Pediatric Emergency Physician, with a broad range of experience as a clinician and educator.

The components of his work is in the Pediatric Emergency Department and Trauma Center at Meyer Children’s Hospital Florence, Italy and include clinical care, research and teaching.

Dr. Parri is a key opinion leader at the advisory level on the diffusion of point-of-care devices in health settings, with specific regard to ultrasound systems and biomarkers.

Dr. Parri is a full time Pediatric Emergency physician at Meyer Children’s hospital, Florence, Italy, which is a comprehensive center for pediatric care that offers a complete range of pediatric specialties.

Meyer is also one of the most important pediatric hospitals in Italy and home to Italy’s first and only pediatric trauma center.

During his activity Dr. Parri oversee the activities of pediatric emergency medicine residents.

He is the physician lead for point-of-care ultrasound in the emergency department and created the first international point of care ultrasound workshop with an international board in the country.

Dr. Parri directed several national and international ultrasound training programs on point-of-care ultrasound and
pediatric trauma.

At the national level, he is current Scientific Director in the Italian Society of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and has been involved in collaborating with scientific committees in leading Pediatric Emergency Medicine topics and speakers for their national and international conferences.

He is board of the National Committee that drafted the guideline for the management of children with head injury in the emergency department and the management of severe brain injuries.

At the international level he was Past-Chair of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Section of the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), founder and board of the EUSEM’s branch society European Society for Emergency Pediatrics (EUSEP) and scientific board of the European Academy of Paediatric Societies (EAPS).

Dr. Parri is a recognized speaker both locally and in other countries where he has presented at international evens.

He authored 50 publications in peer-reviewed journal including NEJM, Lancet, Pediatrics.

His interests are education & development of pediatric emergency medicine curriculum, pediatric trauma and critical care in the emergency department, ultrasound, shock, with emphasis on biomarkers.
