Papa kojo Mbroh

Dr. Papa Kojo Mbroh 

Dr. Mbroh is a pioneer graduate of the University of Cape School of Medical Sciences.

Having finished his emergence medicine residency at Komfo Anokye teaching hospital in Kumasi, he returned to the Cape Coast teaching hospital where he is currently the acting head of department at the accident and emergency department.

After receiving some training from the visiting faculty of the University of Florida in POCUS, he developed special interest in Point of Care Ultrasonography (POCUS) in resource limited settings such as most Emergency Department settings in Ghana.

Dr. Mbroh made oral presentations at the maiden Emergency Medicine Society of Ghana Scientific conference
in November 2019 and won an award for the best original article by a resident.

He also co-authored “Ultrasound in Resource-Limited settings: A Case-Based, Open Access Text”, an online open source eBook on POCUS which was published 28th September, 2020.

In October, 2022, having received training himself a year ago, Dr Mbroh became a trainer for worldwide radiology’s sound sonography program in Ghana which was designed and delivered with the University of Salford to train doctors in rural areas in basic POCUS.

He teaches basic emergency care in peripheral emergency centers in his free time and is a part -time lecturer at the University Cape Coast.

Dr. Papa Kojo Mbroh aspires to pursue a fellowship in Emergency point of care Ultrasonography with a special focus on Bedside Echocardiography and Ultrasound guided Emergency Department procedures.
