Romulo Brazil Babasa III, MD, FPCEM

Dr. Romulo “Jon” Babasa III is the Assistant Chair, POCUS Coordinator of the St. Luke’s Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine-William Quasha Memorial, Philippines.

Dr. Babasa received his medical degree from the University of Sto. Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the St. Luke’s Medical Center.

He participated in the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Emergency Ultrasound Visiting Fellows program for international physicians in 2013 and since then, he has focused his efforts on mentoring emergency healthcare practitioners on utilizing ultrasound at the patient’s bedside.

Dr.Babasa is the founding president of the Philippine Society of Ultrasound in Resuscitation and Emergencies (PSURE) and is also responsible for running a free, annual ultrasound course that has provided Basic POCUS Training for over 300 emergency and acute care physicians.
